Well, it’s been a minute. Actually, it’s been about four months. I didn’t intend to take a break from blogging…. It just sort of happened.
When we first found out we were expecting, I didn’t really expect my life to change all that much until after our baby’s arrival. But, as it turns out, my life has completely changed and been more chaotic and busy than ever!
As someone who loves to learn, I have taken pregnancy as an opportunity to educate myself as much as possible on pregnancy, childbirth and parenting. I am told that you can never fully be prepared to become a parent, but I don’t think that’s an excuse to sit back and let it happen. I think it’s important to be informed and to know things. And, of course, it is most important to trust in the Lord above all.
This pregnancy has been a whirlwind. I have continued to work full time throughout this pregnancy, so life is pretty exhausting most days. Some days it’s all I can do to get through the work day, and then I get home and just want to crash! On top of working full time, my husband and I committed ourselves to a 12-week childbirth class (which was incredible!), and we are trying to finish up some home maintenance and renovations (in addition to the nursery). We’ve had a lot going on!
I am happy to say that I’ve only got about another week left of working full time, and then I will be home to rest and nest before baby comes (which could be anytime between late June and early July). After her arrival, I am giving myself a solid 12 weeks to just be a mommy and nothing else. After that, I’m hoping to pick back up with blogging on a more regular basis (although you will probably hear from me occasionally during those 12 weeks – just not regularly) and get more active with my Etsy shop.
I have been thinking a lot lately about the future of this blog and whether it will change at all after becoming a mom. As of now, I plan to still produce the same type of content as before, but I may begin to do more life updates and I may take on some sponsored content – if it feels right.
I don’t have any plans to become a “mommy blogger,” but rather a “mommy who blogs.” So, for those of you who have enjoyed my content up to this point, you have nothing to fear! You can still count on me for lifestyle/faith posts, home decor, reading lists, etc. But, I have to be honest with you and with myself – every one of us is constantly growing and changing each and every day, and as bloggers grow personally, their blogs also grow with them. So, I cannot promise no change at all.
Thank you so much to all of you who have stuck around during the past year while my blog has gone through many different seasons! And, I promise I will be back sooner rather than later.
Last but not least, please enjoy these incredible photos from our maternity session by Stephanie Kaslly Photography! Stephanie did an amazing job capturing this sweet, sweet season of our lives. I just can’t believe how beautiful these photos turned out… you would never know that it had been 50 degrees and raining all day long.

These are great! You & Matthew are enjoying this time of “waiting”! You are learning & doing…and above all, Trusting in the Lord. Keep up the good work–you both have a lot of love that is being multiplied, to share with baby girl. Then, you can teach her to Trust in the Lord!
