I don’t know what exactly it is about winter that makes me want to read more than usual. Maybe it’s the colder weather that keeps me indoors, or maybe it’s cozy clothes and cozy candles on a snowy winter evening. Whatever it is, this wonderful reading fever hits me every winter without fail.
And it’s not that I want to read just anything during the winter months. There are certain types of books that simply read better when it’s cold and snowy outside! Below I am listing some of my favorite reads for this time of the year. I chose these books because they make me feel warm and cozy and/or they send chills up my spine that keep me turning their pages. Some of these are classics, some are historical fiction and one is dystopian.
Before I go any further, I want to be completely transparent with you about this list. I was recently presented the opportunity to become an Amazon Associate, which means I will earn fees for products that are purchased through links on my blog. I am not normally one to jump at opportunities to monetize my blog, but since I’ve already got Amazon links running rampant throughout my website, I decided this would be a good opportunity for me to explore – starting with the following list. I promise to never, ever promote any products that I would not already recommend without a commission. You have my word.
Now, without further ado, here is the list!
The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley
North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson
Below I am listing even more titles that I predict will be perfect for this time of year! I have them on my reading list to read before spring, so I’ll be sure to come back here with an update for each one.
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
A Refuge Assured by Jocelyn Green
Happy reading!

Lol when I saw the title my first thought was that Blackmoore should be on the list! Lol. I haven’t read most of these books so they are def going on my TBR! ☺️ Thanks for the great ideas!

I have a few of those books on my to-read pile, but you can never go wrong with Austen.
