Fall is hands down my favorite season. I love crisp weather, cozy sweaters, and of course pumpkin EVERYTHING. I also really, really love to decorate for fall.
Since my husband and I recently scaled back on our budget to save some money, I’m finding myself coming up with creative and inexpensive ways to decorate for fall. As much as I love spending money on this kind of stuff, I’ve found that there are many budget-friendly ways to make my house cute this season.
Shop the dollar store/section
Would you believe these cute little burlap pumpkins came from the dollar store?! You’d be surprised what you can find at places like Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, etc. I’ve found lots of little goodies for the holidays at these stores. (Target also has a section at the front of the store where there are usually all kinds of seasonal decor items for $1, $3, or $5!)
Buy a few real pumpkins
Let’s be honest – nothing says fall like pumpkins! I got a few cute little white pumpkins at Trader Joe’s last year for just a few bucks, and I plan on going back to get some more for my home this fall.
Shop Etsy for printables
You all know I love printables. I’ve got a few in the shop for fall, so feel free to check them out! Or, if they’re not your thing, just use the search feature on Etsy to find more adorable printables from other Etsy sellers.
Shop end-of-season sales
Last year I picked up this beautiful fall wreath from Joann’s at the end of the fall season for a fraction of the price! Even though I could only hang it up for a few weeks last fall, I knew that if I bought it I would have it for the following fall and every year after that. It definitely beat paying full price!
Candles, candles candles
What says “fall” more than the scent of pumpkin, cinnamon and apples?! I love to make a Marshall’s and/or TJ Maxx run at the start of the fall season and stock up on discounted fall-scented candles. They look cute and they smell good, too!
All the cotton
Confession: I decorate with cotton all year long! But I especially love how cotton stems look when placed with other fall decor, so I love them even more this time of year.
