Happy Friday! I just can’t believe how quickly the month of May is passing us by. It’s definitely been one of the busiest months of this year so far, so that’s probably why.
Last week on Tuesday, my husband and I celebrated two years of marriage! If we could, I think we would spend every anniversary in Jamaica, where we spent our honeymoon. But since we couldn’t swing it, we went to Bahama Breeze instead. Close enough, right?! 😉
Speaking of marriage, last weekend I watched one of my best friends say, “I do”! It was such a beautiful wedding and a really fun weekend overall.
Last night, my husband and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. And…YOU GUYS. All of my Pirates dreams came true. It was SO good. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. If you have doubts about it because of how disappointing the 4th movie was, don’t let that stop you. I feel like this movie was Disney’s apology to the world for screwing up on #4. Trust me. You’ll want to go see it – especially if the ending of #3 broke your heart. I had my doubts about going to see it, but when I found out that both Will and Elizabeth were back, I literally was like, TAKE MY MONEY NOW.
Last but not least…I’m pretty excited for the long weekend ahead of us! After work today, we’re heading up a few hours north to spend the weekend with my husband’s family at the cottage. I’m really looking forward to relaxing and doing some reading. I just downloaded the third book in the Hawthorne House series by Kristi Ann Hunter, and I can’t wait to dig into it!
Speaking of reading, did you catch yesterday’s post with some of my favorite historical fiction? Grab yourself one of these novels this weekend! You won’t regret it.

Hi Jennifer; Congratulations on 2 years of marriage! We’re about to celebrate our 19th (!!) in June. Truly, it doesn’t seem like we’ve been married that long. It seems like “the wedding” was just 5 years ago! 😉
I look forward to checking out the fiction you recommend. I’m hard-pressed to find good books without all the yucky stuff some publishers seem to require. That’s why I’m determined to write “clean” books.
So nice to meet you!
