[…] of reading, did you catch yesterday’s post with some of my favorite historical fiction? Grab yourself one of these novels this weekend! You won’t regret […]
Last week, I shared about how much I love to read and how my love for reading first started. If you caught that post, you probably know that classics are my favorite and nothing can compare to them.
However, about a year ago, one of my close friends recommended Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson. I took her advice and downloaded the ebook on my iPad. And let me tell you, I couldn’t put that thing down! I had it read in less than 24 hours, and I immediately wanted to go back and read it again.
What captured my attention about Edenbrooke were two things: 1) that it was set in the Regency era (the time period in which Jane Austen lived and wrote), and 2) that it was a clean and “proper” romance.
After I read Edenbrooke, I started exploring more on Goodreads and found that there were several other authors writing books like these. I couldn’t believe it! How had I not known this before? And how had I not previously been tracking my reading progress on Goodreads?!
Ever since then, I have devoured more historical novels than I care to admit, and I have enjoyed every moment of each one. I try to limit myself one per month (so that I can reach my other reading goals), but sometimes I indulge in two or three. Most of them have taken place in England, but some of them take place in America, Canada or France.
Since I just can’t keep these to myself, below I am sharing my current Top 10 Favorite Historical Novels with you (in no particular order). Most of them are either written by Christians or published by Christian publishing houses. That means they’re all clean, proper romances that you can enjoy with abandon!
