Happy Friday! I am so excited that it’s Friday for two reasons: 1) It’s going to be super warm outside this weekend, and 2) I am starting a new Friday ritual here on the blog!
I’m aware that this is probably not a unique idea in any way, but in order to connect with my readers more I am starting something called Friday Favorites! A couple of times per month on Fridays, I will post a random update on my life, sharing my favorite moments from the week as well as anything good I’ve seen, read, watched, listened to, etc. In return, I would love for you to comment with your own Friday Favorites so we can learn about each other!
So here we go…
This was my third week of officially working from home for two (out of five) days per week. I’m really enjoying it because it allows me to sleep in a bit longer, not spend so much time in the car, and get things done around the house with the time I’m saving from my commute.
I recently discovered this album on Spotify, and I am obsessed. It’s some of the prettiest music I have ever heard and the perfect background music for getting work done.
Yesterday I finished The Fellowship of the Ring (the book, not the movie). I don’t really remember what prompted me to pick it up, other than trying to widen my horizons and read books I wouldn’t otherwise be interested in (I don’t typically love fantasy fiction). My overall thoughts: it was a bit long-winded but still entertaining. Not my favorite, but not the worst thing I’ve ever read by any means! I will definitely finish the series.
Whenever I finish a long or challenging novel, I like to reward myself with a guilty pleasure. I am obsessed with Julie Klassen’s Regency Era novels. They’re sweet, inspirational, clean and of course romantic. Yesterday I started The Dancing Master.
I’m really looking forward to having some of my girlfriends over tomorrow to watch the BBC miniseries of Jane Austen’s Emma! Have you seen it? I’ve only seen the Gwenyth Paltrow film, which I love, but I’m excited to see this other version.
I’ve been eyeing these nude flats from Express. I’m just waiting for them to do a 40% off sale before I pull the trigger. I need them in my life!
My husband and I are starting the search for a new car (well, new to us)! Two years ago we really had no other choice than to lease a car, and so the car I’ve been driving will go back to the dealership in June. Unfortunately, however, I will be over my miles before then, so we are hoping to purchase a car well before June. We are hoping for a small SUV that’s just a few years old. Our budget is not huge, though, so we’ll see.
Speaking of budgets, I recently finished Rachel Cruze’s Love Your Life Not Theirs, and it has been such an inspiration to me to make better choices with our money. I highly recommend it!
I think that’s all for today! Feel free to comment below and tell me about your week! ❤

Love your list of favorites! Had no idea there was a miniseries coming out! Will look into that! Oh and those flats?!!!! I need those in my life!

Aren’t they so cute?! I ended up getting similar ones from Target because Express didn’t have my size in stock!!
Also, I should have mentioned this, but the miniseries actually came out in 2009! I had only just heard of it, so it was “new” to me. I absolutely LOVED it. Definitely recommend!
