When my husband and I were first married, we lived in a really cute little rental condo. Being that it was my first time having my own place to decorate, I had so many ideas for how to make it our own. But let’s be honest, we really needed to recuperate from the cost of our wedding. So naturally, I didn’t have much of a budget to work with. I ended up waiting on a lot of things that were on my wish list. I just kept saying to myself, “In a year, when we buy our first house, I’ll decorate it the way I want to.”
Then, 9 months later, we bought the house. But, a few days after we got the keys, we discovered some very expensive, very unexpected plumbing issues. And my new furniture/new decor budget went right down the toilet (literally). And so I was right back where I started.
But don’t get me wrong – I am not complaining. I am actually really grateful that this happened because it has taught me to be content with what I have and to be patient, creative and intentional with decorating. I’ve garbage picked, thrifted and painted furniture; I’ve repurposed old decorations with spray paint; and I’ve designed and framed some pretty little prints.
As I began to design these prints and post them on Instagram, I realized that other people may be interested in having my designs in their home as well. So I revived my dusty ol’ Etsy shop and gave it a brand new purpose: to create and sell sweet, simple, affordable inspirational printables for the home.
Today, I have a special opportunity for my readers! I am giving away my favorite item, this 8×10 “It Is Well” printable PDF. I’m doing this because I believe it’s important to create a cozy, peaceful home, and I’m also doing it to thank you for being my readers!
